03 Oct Plateau
A plateau is a time period when we continue to make right efforts but feel that we are not progressing or even becoming worse. We may feel disappointed, doubt ourselves, or even lose interest.
Plateaus happen all the time in tango dancing. Experiencing them every year is not unusual. The duration of a plateau can range from a few weeks to several months or even longer.
A plateau is actually a good thing, because it is the result of the ongoing process of neural restructuring for the next level, so to speak. While you are experiencing a plateau, inside you there is a busy process of restructuring yourself going on, preparing yourself to make a quantum leap to the next level.
Thus, if you have experienced nice and steady progress but suddenly you are stuck in a plateau, this is a good thing. Keep what you have been doing persistently and you’ll come out at a higher level.
