Line on Skirt

There is a milonguero saying that the skirt of a good milonguera has a line across her hips. The reason is because good milongueras dance with good milongueros -> good milongueros dance on the outer lane of the dance floor of crowded milongas -> good milongueros dance as close to the edge of the floor as possible while putting their partner toward the edge of the floor due to navigation reasons and so that the woman they are dancing with will be the least exposed to the danger of collision and someone else’s high heels. Now, usually, in the milongas in Buenos Aires, there are tables along the edge of the floor. Thus, it frequently happens that a good milonguera’s skirt is slightly in touch with the edge of a table, which makes a line on her skirt across her hips.
