Workshop Topics

In choosing this year’s class topics, the main focus was giro. With this focus, Sebastian and Ines’ core technique is introduced on Friday, followed by one day of intensive training on giro on Saturday, and then by one day of intensive training on vals on Sunday. The goal is fluid, dynamic, and elegant dancing with a lot of turns.

Sebastian and Ines were Buenos Aires champions in the category of vals before winning the Mundial in 2010. Their vals is very dynamic with a lot of intricacy and playfulness.

I believe that this line-up of core technique – giro intensive – vals intensive will contribute to improving the quality of dance by the incorporation of fluid, dynamic, and elegant circular movements.

Friday: Core technique and social dancing
Workshop 1. Embrace and marca – Sebastian and Ines’ way (all level)
Workshop 2. Favorite steps of Sebastian and Ines (all level)

Saturday: Giro intensive
Workshop 3. Giro: Technique for balance and embrace (intermediate/advanced)
Workshop 4. Enrosque made simple: How to start enrosques, for man and woman (intermediate)
Workshop 5. Lapiz and enrosque advanced technique (advanced)

Sunday: Vals intensive
Workshop 6. Vals musicality (all level)
Workshop 7. Vals sequences (intermediate)
Workshop 8. Barridas in vals (advanced)
