Sebastian Jimenez, the champion of world tango championship in 2010 and one of the most sought-after tango maestros in the world, and Joana Gomes are coming to DC again. We have prepared an exciting program to help improving your dance this year.

Biography
Sebastián Jimenez
Sebastian Jimenez began his dance training at the age of 4 with Folklore Argentino. At age 10, he discovered the Tango and clung definitely. From 14 years was associated with one of the best living exponent in tango (Carlos Perez and Rosa Forte). He began working as a couple with Maria Ines Bogado at the end of 2007, performing in the most traditional milongas. In 2008, he began to prepare for the competition “Metropolitan Championship” and became the Metropolitan champions of 2010 in the vals category. Having turned 18 and with this result, he was encouraged to participate in the Mundial de Tango (world tango championship), where he became the World Champions of Tango Salon 2010 and the youngest champion ever.
Joana Gomes
Joana Gomes has a PhD in interactive art and has always been involved in the creation of interactive graphics and interactive dance shows. She learned to dance with the most renowned teachers of Buenos Aires.
Sebastian & Joana are now a couple since they partnered up in June 2016. Since then they have been capturing people’s attention with their elegance and class, transmitting real emotions to their audience in each performance. Beside the artistic side, their classes are receiving a special attention from the students since they have been developing new concepts and strategies for learning that have been improving the students ability to learn.
Workshop Topics
Workshop topics this year are a balanced combination of fundamental technique and fun specifics. Every workshop by Sebastian and Joana starts with fundamental technique and build up toward more complex specifics. Everything they teach in their workshop is geared toward 100% social dancing.
